Blog 3- Colours, Animals, Everyday things!

Welcome back to my Genius Hour Blog! 😀

It's the second week of this journey, which means the 2nd hour of my genius hour...which also means NEW LEARNING AND GROWTH!

This week's Genius Hour consisted of me teaching myself the Mandarin words for different colours, animals, everyday things (days of the week), and let me tell you... it was not easy!

I learned throughout this week's Genius Hour, that the Chinese language has so many different words and ways to pronounciate words, and even how they use words is different compared to English.


I have included a voice recording of one of the things I learned for this weeks goal- the days of the week!! I didn't want to include too many voice clips, as they take up a lot of storage and slow it down!

In addition, I also taught myself these words, but had a hard time remembering the animals. I started mixing up the Mandarin words for different animals. Because of this, I know I have to practice more and through this I will be able to remember it and perfect it- which is my goal before next week's Genius Hour.

For this week, I haven't really came across anything I need to find more information on, but I know if I ever get stuck or have any questions, I can always ask my boyfriend- David or his mum!

To continue this journey, I am constantly repeating all the words I have learned so far, in order to be able to remember and recall the words when spoken, or when trying to think of the different colours, greetings, numbers, animals, etc., in Mandarin.
